This section is dedicated to a few minor things, oddball discoveries, and whatever else I happened to have stumbled on while revisiting our BCIS450 project. I have also placed documentation errata in this section.
Odds and Ends
There is an Easter egg in the final version of the database that corresponds with an entry in the documentation. The Easter egg is known only to Anthony and myself.
Errata
As with any publication there remains a small necessity to point out errata that has been discovered since the publication date. I wish I had more time during the project to more carefully analyze the project documentation. Since Anthony and I were in a hurry to turn everything in well before the due date to ensure Dr. Kreie received everything in time, we had a very small window of opportunity to fix minor issues and the likes. Not surprisingly, the documentation, while complete, was not sufficiently checked for mistakes. It’s good, but it could have been better.
Page 28, first paragraph
The first sentence should read: “Generating reports is an important feature for most databases, particularly“.
It currently reads as: “Generating reports is an important feature for most databases, particular“.
Page 28, example screen shot
The image shown to illustrate the reports menu is not representative of the final product. Anthony had made extensive changes of the reports in the time between my completion of the documentation and our turn-in of the project.
